Privacy Policy

This is a static website. It has no accounts, no login, no contact form, and no comment section. Nothing you do here is stored by me beyond what a web server unavoidably records in order to send you a page.

No cookies, no tracking

This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, no tracking pixels, and no advertising. Every image, style, and font is served from this domain, so simply opening a page contacts no third-party server. Nothing needs your consent, and there is no consent banner.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, acting as a processor on my behalf. To deliver a page and to keep the service secure and available, Cloudflare processes technical connection data such as your IP address, the requested URL, the time of the request, the referrer, and your browser and operating system version.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — my legitimate interest in operating a secure, functioning website. This data is not merged with other data and is not used to identify you. Cloudflare's privacy policy:cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Contacting me by email

If you write to one of the addresses on this site, your message and the data it contains are stored so that I can answer it. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request concerns a contract or its initiation, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. I keep the correspondence for as long as it is needed to deal with your enquiry, and longer only where the law requires it.

This site links to other websites — app pages, conference sites, YouTube, GitHub, Mastodon, and Instagram. Those links are plain links; no content from those services is embedded here, so nothing is loaded from them until you click. Once you follow a link, the privacy policy of that site applies, not this one.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• access the personal data I hold about you (Art. 15)
• have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16)
• have your data erased (Art. 17)
• have processing restricted (Art. 18)
• receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20)
• object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21)

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, normally the data protection authority of the German state in which I am established.

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date at the top.
